FAQ | JEWELRY CARE

For all jewelry other than Solid Gold Fine jewelry: Please remove your jewelry while exercising, showering and swimming. Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions or hair products. Even natural ones. Do not use harsh chemicals, bleach, oil, jewelry cleaners, or polishing cloths, this can affect the finishing. BACCISTORE is not responsible for the maintenance of your jewelry.

 

Please take off your jewelry before showing, avoid lotions and oils or they will turn color quickly. Over time the pieces will turn in color due to contact with natural body oils. For best care of 'gold plated’ jewelry, do not shower with your items. Keep them in a cool dry place.

 

Please use a solution of warm water and detergent-free soap with a soft bristle brush. Contact us if you are unsure.

 

Some people have allergic reactions to some plating. The most common is nickel-plating- possibly up to 10% of people react to nickel. Unfortunately nickel is used to color gold, as an alloy, and sometimes in the electroplating process. If allergy is a problem, most jewelry makers like to use surgical steel, sterling silver, vermeil, or gold-filled items. The plating on plain electroplated items is usually too thin.

 

For best care of 'gold plated’ jewelry, do not shower with your items & avoid contact with lotions and oils. If your items do turn immediately, it can be caused by a metal-to-skin oil reaction. Each persons oils make metal react differently, in this case, it's not our responsibility to rerun or exchange your item. We apologize in advance. 

 

Please read the description of each item before purchasing, some items have a 'vintage treatment' on them allowing for unique scratches, coloring & defects.

 

If your items turn immediately, it can be caused by a metal-to-skin oil reaction. Each persons oils can make each metal react differently. We are not responsible for your skins reaction to metal or vise versa. Feel free to use a mild jewelry cleaner to clean your jewelry. Stainless Steel & Gold Plated jewelry will turn naturally over time, but there's no way to reverse this. The beauty of our stainless steel jewelry is that it's thick Gold Plated & when it turns, it fades to a lovely ombre of Gold & Silver.

 

Everyone's skin type is different. Some people have strong reactions to bronze, nickel & gold plating. If you are susceptible to this, please avoid buying non-solid gold or sterling silver jewelry. We do not offer refunds or returns for this reason. We apologize in advance.
